Richard D. Jarvis, A.I.A., is a Registered Architect and co-founder of the firm. He graduated with honors from the University of Houston in 1977, with a Bachelor of Architecture. He is currently a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Texas Society of Architects.
Since 1976, Richard has gained experience in commercial and residential architecture, both in new construction and renovation / remodeling projects. Current emphasis is on commercial projects, including medical facilities (doctors' offices, clinics, and diagnostic and imaging centers); restaurants (conventional and fast food); retail buildings and lease spaces; industrial complexes (manufacturing and warehousing); parochial facilities (sanctuaries, classrooms and offices). His recent major projects are several medical imaging and diagnostic centers, restaurants, and conversion of existing buildings into a medical office plaza.
Richard currently serves as Managing Principal for the firm.
John E. Culpepper, A.I.A. LEED Certified
John E. Culpepper, A.I.A., has been a Registered Architect since 1983. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1979, with a Bachelor of Architecture and is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Texas Society of Architects. He currently serves as President of BSA-Architects, Inc.
Since joining the firm in 1979, John has been the principal designer of custom residential and commercial architecture. His projects include single and multi-family residences, including luxury homes in the 3,000 to 15,000 square foot range. Recent commercial work includes renovation and expansion of a manufacturing complex and a new restaurant/bakery.
Brian Swartz, A.I.A., LEED AP
Brian C. Swartz, AIA graduated from the University of Houston in 2005 with honors. Although he majored in Architecture, he minored in Construction Management and enjoys seeing the project vision translate from drawing to reality. He obtained his professional architectural license in early 2010, and through his interest in sustainable architecture has earned his LEED AP accreditation. Along with supporting the design team throughout the life of projects, Brian is the BSA Office Director, who is responsible for organizing various social events for the business.
Ken Carbonari
Ken Carbonari graduated with highest honors from the University of Houston in 2007, with a Bachelor of Architecture. Ken's unique background involves both hands on experience in residential and commercial construction as well as many years of Industrial Design, Product Engineering and Quality Control in the Medical Device industry. His professional career allows Ken to understand the technical aspects of architecture and construction as well as the necessity for quality documentation and communication on any project.
Stephen Rodriguez
Stephen Rodriguez is a graduated from the Gerald D. Hines, College of Architecture at the University of Houston in 2008. Stephen is our newest member of the team bringing extensive computer experience in computer based technology including Website Deign. Ideally suited for his background, Stephen is leading BSA's transition into the 3d Design world. Stephen also serves as the on-site IT professional.
Betty Sanders
Betty Sanders is the financial and technical director for BSA-Architects.
