  • Richard D. Jarvis, A.I.A.

    • Richard D. Jarvis, A.I.A., is a Registered Architect and co-founder of the firm. He graduated with honors from the University of Houston in 1977, with a Bachelor of Architecture. He is currently a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Texas Society of Architects.

      Since 1976, Richard has gained experience in commercial and residential architecture, both in new construction and renovation / remodeling projects. Current emphasis is on commercial projects, including medical facilities (doctors' offices, clinics, and diagnostic and imaging centers); restaurants (conventional and fast food); retail buildings and lease spaces; industrial complexes (manufacturing and warehousing); parochial facilities (sanctuaries, classrooms and offices). His recent major projects are several medical imaging and diagnostic centers, restaurants, and conversion of existing buildings into a medical office plaza.

      Richard currently serves as Managing Principal for the firm.

    • John E. Culpepper, A.I.A., has been a Registered Architect since 1983. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1979, with a Bachelor of Architecture and is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Texas Society of Architects. He currently serves as President of BSA-Architects, Inc.

      Since joining the firm in 1979, John has been the principal designer of custom residential and commercial architecture. His projects include single and multi-family residences, including luxury homes in the 3,000 to 15,000 square foot range. Recent commercial work includes renovation and expansion of a manufacturing complex and a new restaurant/bakery.

  • Michael H. Smith, A.I.A.

    • Michael joined the firm of BSA, Architects in 1986. He is a registered architect with memberships in the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Texas Society of Architects and is a partner in the firm.

      Michael's list of projects includes new construction of corporate headquarters for SimTex, an international oilfield supply company, and building renovations and remodel for Schlumberger and Coldwell Banker. He is the architect for several of Houston's favorite downtown night spots including Prague, Jones Bar, Azure, and Pub Fiction. His work also includes numerous lease space build out designs for restaurants, coffee bars, showrooms, and offices. Michael's residential portfolio consists of custom homes in Richmond, TX; Shiner, TX; and the Great Abaco Islands, Treasure Cay, Bahamas.

      Michael provides his clients with creative, functional, and unique solutions according to the project requirements. He can also provide freehand sketches and presentation renderings.

  • Frank Botello

    • Frank R. Botello graduated from the University of Houston in 1979 with a Bachelor of Architecture. Although his background includes residential architecture, his current emphasis is on commercial projects, including retail buildings, convenience stores, apartment renovations and warehouses. His recent projects include development of a prototype design for a national gas and convenience store chain. Frank has been associated with the firm since 1978.
